Chemical products distributors represent a vital part in promoting product Management through the Responsible Distribution Process – PRODIR, once they represent a connection between the manufacturer and Customer, since the beginning of production until the final use. While the manufacturer is responsible for establishing inherent risks related to products and their specific uses, one of the main roles of the distributor is to ensure that such risks are clearly informed to warehouses and transporters, as well as to Customers.
It is of vital importance that distributors and manufacturers of chemical products have a clear understanding of their part and assure the existence of these communication relationships, to guarantee that health, safety and environment information is transmitted throughout the supply chain. Particularly, it must be assured that any concerns on health, safety and environment raised by Customers are informed to the Supplier.
